Once again we are competing in the A Division of the County Championships and again the competition is taking place in Sheffield at Abbeydale Sports Club, Abbeydale Road South, Sheffield, S17 3LJF. The tournament takes place on 11/12 May. We are in a Pool with Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Warwickshire and The Armed Forces. We play 2 games on the Saturday (1st game @ 2.00pm) and 2 games on the Sunday. The plan is to stay over on the Saturday as our 1st game on Sunday is early. Historically players are asked to contribute circa. £50 to the weekend to cover costs; including accommodation. This will also be the case this year, although a reduced fee will be charged to any U18 players.

The standard of Hockey is decent and the social is fun!! It gives players the opportunity to meet and socialise with players from other Counties/Teams.

County Trials and Training will start on Thursday 11th April at Ratcliff College from 7pm-8.30pm and run through to 2nd May. It would be great to see as many players as possible, from as many clubs as possible from across the County; so that we can work towards putting the strongest squad together possible. Please also pass this information on to anyone who has a connection with Leicestershire that may be interested. The first couple of sessions will follow the normal open format, giving everyone the opportunity to progress through the selection process.

Once again Paul Willars will be managing the squad, with Gavin Guest and Phil Sign making up the management squad.
