News12 Mar 2010 Westleigh Juniors sign first official schools linkWestleigh Juniors have taken a great step forward with there first EHA official club school link, signed with Soar Valley College.After achieving ClubFirst accreditation, the club will now work with England Hockey and the School Sports Officer to develop Junior Hockey. There will be new courses delivered by England Hockey to start Quicksticks in the local primary schools. This is the first step in the new EHA single system and will teach the basics, to enable children to develop the correct skills leading to mini hockey. Children will then carry on with the core skills at the Westleigh coaching sessions run on Mondays 6-7.30 at the college. A great step foward in the great work already being done by the club and we should see many good players coming through the club in the coming years. |
