Starting with the U10 boys, to go out this morning in that wind and cold and perform the way they did was nothing short of outstanding. Finishing 7th overall and matching last year’s result is a fantastic achievement, especially given the conditions. What’s even more impressive is that we finished ahead of several clubs with significantly larger junior sections. That really says everything about the quality, determination, and spirit of this group. We are firmly putting ourselves on the map as one of the premier junior clubs in the Midlands.
As for the girls, this was a truly historic day for the club. This is the first time a Westleigh U10 girls’ side has ever reached the Midlands Championships, and they absolutely rose to the occasion. Finishing 12th overall on their first appearance at this level is something they should be incredibly proud of. The future is very bright for this group.
A massive thank you to all the parents as well. Standing on the sidelines for four hours in that mix of wind, rain, and cold is no small ask, your support means everything to the players and to us as a club.
And finally, a big thank you to the coaches who were out there the entire time, constantly encouraging, guiding, and getting the very best out of every player. Days like today are only possible because of that dedication.
This really is a whole club effort, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved over the past 12 months. There is something special building here this club is going places, and this feels like just the beginning. ?
