On Sunday 19th September, Leicester Westleigh turned up at St Margarets Pastures on a rainy morning, to play in the annual County Championships. Ready and raring to go Westleigh faced Leicester City's first team and after a slow start, came out on top winning 2-1. Next up were Leicester Panthers and again in a tight game with a fantastic team performance came out as 2-1 winners. In the final group stage game, Westleigh faced Market Harborough B team. This game was not quite as close with some of our players showing some great individual skill. Westleigh won 4-1. It was soon time for the semi-final against Market Harborough A team. Again in a tight game, Westleigh were successful with the common theme of a 2-1 win. This meant that Leicester Westleigh were to face Leicester Mens Hockey club. With a solid team performance in the final, with players giving their all and putting their bodies on the line, Westleigh once again came out on top with a 2-1 win. Well done to all of those involved!
