Senior Team of The Weekend!

Winning Weekend for the Mens 1s!

Saturday:

To cut a long story short away at Panthers, the mighty 1s travelled there knowing it was going to be a tricky test away at another local side. Following a tough first half, Westleigh pounced on an error to make it 1-0 at half time.

Aidan and Conor then got subbed off at HT and somehow the team can score goals without them and Westleigh went 3-0 up 3 minutes into the second half.

Coach Ali would have been delighted with our build up play to what would have been goal of the season but Jack unlike his goalscoring namesake in M2 couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo and missed the sitter of the season.

Willi got cuddled by their goalkeeper and 2 defenders meaning Belgian T who was moody all day finally got a chance to score. He slapped his penalty stroke into the corner and got away with it.

3 points. Up the boys.

Sunday:

Atherstone Adders 2 0️⃣
Leicester Westleigh 5️⃣

Double header weekend meant sore legs travelled to Atherstone.

As per usual the mighty 1s started strong with some great pressure leading to an early PC. A bit of a skirmish somehow led our Belgian Prince onto his reverse but the skipper decided to nip in and slot it home. A purposeful assist Jamaigne claims.

The sky is blue, bears do poop in the woods and Jamaigne does bag from top D. Goal 2 was slotted in his usual right side but Goal 3 was a lovely switch to the left. Keeper nowhere for both. Westleigh cruising.

Of course Fleming knew better than the umpires so he decided that a sit down was worth it. A green turned yellow. However, we need to find where the umpire got his stop watch from as he had a lovely 1 minute and 40 second yellow.

Second half with a slight slump with tired legs and an overbearing midfield from Atherstone meant we needed to look after it. A clumsy tackle from the skipper meant he also had to have a very short sit down with a yellow. A brief sit down and bagged the fourth all in the 5 minutes he should have been off. Tils would have been proud of the ice hockey finish.

Some great breakaway play from the boys in blue meant we set Hinsley up for the seventh time. However, he’s getting his value for money on the ball and decided to have a game with their goalkeeper.

The fifth goal was unconventional from the European superstar as it wasn’t from the top. A bit of ping pong around the Atherstone D but he still found the goal. Two jugs already to his name this season. Unsure what the strikers are doing to be honest.

Warra day.

Congratulations to Zach Woolley for his debut in M1. A splendid one at that.

MOM - Reed. Some exceptional saves when it mattered. Those jugs are adding up my friend.

DOD - Hinsley. Some would call it match fixing with how he was in front of goal today. He looks tremendous in his sparky suit and hat.
