First match of the small Leicestershire league had Westleigh face Coalville. Westleigh with an Army of players and with some not present. The game started well with Westleigh taking charge - passing well and Lizzie nearly getting an early goal. Eventually, after a few chances Lizzie got a well deserved goal. Then, a big hit from Nikki which she deflected just went wide. Coalville though didn’t come to make up the numbers and soon they were hitting Westleigh on the counter time after time, only glad Vardy wasn’t playing. After a good team talk at half time the defence became more organised with Jake and Cian keeping better defensive positions. Diya was brilliant further up the pitch. This did see much better attacks with Josh and his speed really pushing the game forwards. All this controlled by Nikki. Best goal of the day came with a great counter; the ball moving from the left to the middle to the right then back to Ethan, who slapped it in first time. Nikki would take the rest with some good shots polished off by Dave asking him to hit it on a short corner. Bang in the corner great. Room for some improvement but with such a big squad its always difficult to keep a flow in the game. Our view at the moment is getting all players out in the fresh air and playing is fantastic! With that in mind it was a great day.
