The 3rd game of the day vs Harborough - we have never played them as they chose to play in the Northamptonshire league. Westleigh started with some confusion, in the middle players all getting in each others way. The defence stood firm with Chester making tackle after tackle and getting the ball to Emma, who drove down the wing. Great early work from them. With a great hard through ball Harborough scored a well worked goal. Westleigh got right back into the game. The overall hockey was great not bunching and making longer passes. Westleigh staged many attacks, Izack getting into great positions but not quite finding the finish. Still looking for the sniper with no one near him he managed to do the splits falling over. Very open game for the rest of the match. Bit of a sore point for the older players who didn’t move the ball from side to side but overall all players did really well. Garin also kept us in it with some fine saves moving far faster off his line this week. Special note to Ethan for playing the ball all the way back in possession. But as much as the forward line were all very good. Biggest note goes to the defenders Keown, Jake and Chester. After defending work on Tuesday they put it into practice very well.
