Despite the early start, our U8’s made the trip over to Ashby HC for another tournament. With a team full of hockey heroes graduates, there was optimism amongst the squad following some great passing and team work in the warm up. With 6 games ahead of our team, they hoped for a fantastic day and they didn’t disappoint. Winning all but one match and scoring 29 goals in the 6 games. They dominated most of their games with their high energy, high passing and team ethic. All players scored goals, passed the ball well and work incredibly hard for the team. This was despite the terrible wet and windy conditions, where smiles stayed on their face throughout. Highlights included Emmett commentating his own goals following his excitement at his first tournament, some superb stick skills from Darcey, some amazing defensive positioning and tackling from Nathan, and goal-machine Maxwell firing in most games.
A great day out for the Under 8’s lead by coach James Woolley. The team left full of joy and an excitement for the next tournament (and to get dry and warm). Well done everyone.
