Berkswell and Balsall Common 1st 0 -3 Leicester Westleigh 1st

Leicester Westleigh 1st XI got off to a great start to the season with a 3-0 win over Berkswell and Ballsall Common who are going to be in the league above this season. There was some great creative play going forward with Damon Fleming putting us 1-0 up assisted by Simon James. Chances were then created at both ends making it an entertaining game.

Westleigh were unlucky with whistles being blown early when creating chances in the D. Westleigh started brightly in the second half with Damon Fleming scoring a poachers goal assisted by Sam Hinsley. Then Westleigh went 3-0 up with a goal from Sam Hinsley assisted by John Kirby.

It was clear that Westleigh were becoming fatigued towards the end of the game. However, Westleigh were still creating great chances with fantastic play between Josh Noon and Damon Fleming creating a 1v1 opportunity (Josh Noon got voted DOD for not scoring this after some skilful play).

Man of the match went to Dave ........... for a fantastic performance at the back!

A great start for Westleigh 1st XI and lets hope they keep it up!
