Leicester Westleigh compete in the County Champs

Leicester Westleigh competed in the 7 a-side tournament against many teams from around the county.

First up were the Loughborough Student B team. Put in a solid performance drawing the game 0-0. The next team we played was the Loughborough Students A team. We put in a great performance against a team that play a very high standard of hockey. The students struck first, but with Tom Wrath scoring a rebound we drew the game 1-1. Unfortunately with back to back games fatigue hit and we lost to Market Harborough 1-0 dropping to their standard. After a short break we played Loughborough Town who were a very good team unfortunately losing 2-0. Next up was Melton. With a much better performance Westleigh went 1-0 up with a goal from Joe Milligan catching them on the break. Sadly, Westleigh let a goal in at the end of the game which ended 1-1. Our final game was Westleigh’s worst performance with some tired legs. 3-0 loss against Ashby.
