Battling loss opens the season for the twos

The 2nd team faced a heavily bolstered Loughborough team on a hot day. Before we even started playing we knew it was going to be a struggle and a fight.

The game play reflected this as we quickly conceded goals and were put under pressure. We did retaliate and show that we were not to be taken lightly. We ended up scoring thrice. We did concede 9 unfortunately. The 9 conceded goals did our defence no justice as at times they were solid as a rock. Mistakes happen. These are things that can be worked on!

The midfield had the tough job of running up and down in a hot sun, they did a good job and through their hard work we ended up creating opportunities that scored us goals.

As we did concede 9, it's clear there are things that need to be worked on but the opposition is one of the strongest in our league. We will work on our weaknesses and make a much closer game! Had a few clearances came off smoother and a few more chances gone in the net. We would have seen a much closer game.
