After a great point the week before against the league leaders, the 2’s played host to Khalsa at the fortress.

A. Dixon drove down the line, cutting inside before slotting the ball through the keepers legs. H. Woolhouse-Lorber was ready and waiting to tap in to make it 1-0.

A ball down the line from J. Williamson set K. Sansome on his way. He slapped the ball across the “D” to S. Hinsley who was ready and waiting at the far post. He controlled the ball before hitting it home.

Westleigh in their stride at this point, S. James played a lovely ball from the half way line to S. Hinsley. He picked the ball up on the far left of the “D” before driving a shot towards goal which found its way into the far right corner just above the back board.

The most controversial goal of them all. A ball played across to S. Hinsley. With the keeper on the floor, he had all the time in the world. He picked his corner and pushed the ball towards goal. The hat trick was a certainty until… A. Dixon pounced and tapped the ball in for jug avoidance for S. Hinsley. Hockey sacrilege was committed.

Westleigh got a little too complacent and began to slip up allowing Khalsa to grab a goal in the last 5 minutes of the game.
